This ride is a true Mad River Valley gem, piecing together low traffic gravel and off-road sections in a route with great variety. Less than 10 minutes from Madbush, you’re already in the land of huge 360 degree views as you crest the first climb up Rolston Rd. BIKE RENTALS: If you are renting a bike, make sure you have done so with Riders Outpost ahead of time. This will ensure you end up on the correct bike on the day of your tour. You can find the rental page on our website under the "RIDE" menu. BEFORE THE TOUR: Read over the packing list below and reach out with any questions. WHAT TO BRING: - Supportive shoes (Supportive running shoes or similar) - Water bottle - (enough for a day in the woods) - Snacks - (Dont BONK!) - Sunscreen - (It gets HOT in the summer) - Swim suit & towel (Most rides end at a swimming hole) ON THE DAY: When you arrive at Madbush, come right up the stairs to the restaurant and bar. Let a staff member know you are here for a bike tour and they will point you in the correct direction. If you are renting bikes, Riders Outpost is a great place to start. Someone from their team will be able to get you fitted onto your rental and setup with a helmet. GETTING TO THE TRAILS: Most of our routes require a short drive for the best possible experience. We will take care of transporting your bikes to and from the trails. You will be given the address of our start point and you are free to meet your guide there or follow them as the bikes get driven up. ON THE RIDE: Your guide will ride in front stopping at all intersections. They'll bring some sort of local treat to enjoy along the ride. Feel free to pick their brain about the local area and what there is to do. AFTER THE RIDE: The ideal end to a ride is a dip in one of the countless swimming holes Vermont has to offer. If that's something you are after, your guide would be happy to give you directions to one. While you swim, eat, get a creemee or all of the above, we will make sure the bikes are brought safely back to Madbush.
